Location: Washington DC only local candidates will be considered

Compensation: $80,000 to $100,000 depending on experience. Full-time, exempt level employee are eligible for various benefits including vacation and sick leave, paid holidays, health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, long-term and short-term disability insurance, flexible spending plans, employee assistance plan, legal resources plans, tuition reimbursement, and participation in CASE’s retirement plan. CASE is eligible for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program.

POSITION PURPOSE

The Data Science Analyst will support the Director of Data Science in providing complex analyses and critical reports foundational to strategic, revenue-generating data and research services. This role involves assisting in data collection, management, reporting systems, and developing software to support data cleaning, analysis, visualization, and reporting. The Data Science Analyst will also collaborate with colleagues to enhance data management, task automation, and support data-driven decision-making.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Data Analysis and Visualization:
  • Assist in conducting data analysis and developing visualizations for reports and presentations.
  • Support the design and automation of data reports, benchmarking tools, and other data resources.
Collaboration and Support:
  • Work with the Director of Data Science and other team members on data management systems, processes, and platforms.
  • Provide support in maintaining and enhancing product roadmaps for complimentary and revenue-generating products and services.
Training and Development:
  • Assist in delivering presentations and conducting trainings for members.
  • Develop training resources and contribute to thought leadership content.
Technical Expertise:
  • Serve as a technical support resource, providing guidance on data science, analytics, reporting, and benchmarking tools.
Project/Activity Management

Fiscal Management/Budget Responsibilities/Judicious Use of Resources
  • Contribute to budgeted services sales revenue by supporting the development of revenue-generating products.
  • Manage expenses relative to budget and exercise fiscal responsibility.
Liaison Responsibilities
  • Work cooperatively and supportively with volunteers and senior staff.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to analyze existing data, seek opportunities for new data acquisition, and develop insights and reports

Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor.

  • The position requires that the incumbent quickly develop a deep understanding of CASE, its policies and procedures and an understanding of the culture and regional and divisional interdependencies.
  • The position requires a deep understanding and respect for the organization’s systems and workflow.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, data science, computer science, information technology, economics, business administration, or related discipline.
  • One to three years’ experience with data science techniques and processes.
  • Experience in research or data analyst roles, including development of data analytics and visualizations.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in coding languages and tools such as Python, R, Excel, SQL, SPSS, PowerBI, SAS, Tableau, OracleBI, IBM Cognos, Google Analytics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-specialist audiences.
  • Commitment to inclusive excellence.
  • Project management, accountability, time management, and continuous improvement skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player in a rapid-response business environment.

Alternative Work Arrangement: As of January 1, 2022, CASE implemented an Alternative Work Arrangement policy where, after 4 weeks of employment, eligible staff are given the opportunity to work from home up to 2 days per week and in office 3 days per week.
