Data Scientist

We are searching for an impactful Data Scientist to join the high-profile Advanced Analytics Centre of Excellence (CoE) at one of the Middle East's leading financial institutions. This initiative is central to the bank's strategy, tasked with delivering AED multi-million business impact and fostering a data-driven culture across the organization.

This role is for a technical leader ready to take ownership of the entire Machine Learning lifecycle.

The Opportunity:

• High Visibility: The CoE is governed at the ExCo level, ensuring strategic importance and ringfenced resources.
• Direct Impact: Design and deploy ML models that directly support high-value use cases, collaborating within cross-functional AA squads.
• Mentorship: Play a key role in guiding and mentoring junior colleagues, contributing to the growth of the CoE's technical capabilities.

Required Profile:

• Experience: 6-8 years of validated experience in a Data Science role.
• Education: An Advanced Degree (MS/Ph.D.) in a quantitative discipline (Statistics, Math, Computer Applications, Economics) is highly desirable.
• Core Skills: Expertise in R or Python, Machine Learning, Statistics, and Optimization.
• Big Data: Essential experience with large data sets and distributed computing tools (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Hive).
• Soft Skills: Proven ability to work in agile environments, compelling communication skills, and excellent stakeholder management.
