Position Title: Data Scientist

Reporting Manager: CIO

Position Summary:

TMS has an immediate opening for a Data Scientist located at our headquarters in Frederick, MD. This role will support operational, financial, and client-facing teams by transforming data into actionable insights. The ideal candidate is hands-on, analytical, and comfortable working across the full data lifecycle—from ingestion and modeling to visualization and decision support.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain data models and analytical datasets using enterprise data warehouse tools (e.g., Snowflake)
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines and workflows within the AWS environment
  • Analyze operational, event, and transportation datasets to identify trends, risks, and optimization opportunities
  • Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools such as Tableau and Power BI
  • Partner with Operations, Finance, IT, and Client Services to define data requirements and reporting needs
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across systems, document data sources, models, and assumptions
  • Support ad-hoc analysis requests related to event operations and forecasting, perform other job-related duties as needed


Qualifications and Requirements
:

  • BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience,

. 2–5 years of experience in a data analytics or data science role

  • Experience with Snowflake and AWS
  • Strong SQL skills: Python preferred
  • Experience with Tableau and/or Power BI
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
