Job Description


Eurofins PSS is looking for a Data Steward to collaborate with a client to help manage cradle-to-grave activities of laboratory equipment. The team manages and directly executes equipment acquisition and disposition processes to enable new equipment onboarding or equipment disposition via disposal, donation, re-sale, or move in compliance with lab safety and financial policies.

All equipment purchased by this team is recorded on the client's financial ledger and is an important resource that keeps track of the value of the lab equipment and other fixed assets. The successful candidate will work closely with the finance team to audit inventory records and ensure that as equipment moves into, around, and out of the labs, the financial ledger stays compliant and is kept up to date.

The candidate's responsibilities will include:

  • Working with Capital Assets Group (CAS) and Finance to complete inventory audits and summarize results.
  • Monitoring and managing data integrity throughout the life cycle for capital laboratory equipment for the client organization, including responsibility for equipment acquisition and disposition processes that adhere to company policies and result in ensuring an accurate and financially compliant asset ledger.
  • Running defined reports from our inventory database/dashboards and analyzing output to determine and summarize actions needed.
  • Processing ledger master data changes and disposition requests in an IT application to keep ledger records accurate.
  • Following up with scientists in the client's labs to reconcile data discrepancies.
  • Working with multiple stakeholder groups to refine SOPs and dashboards as needed.
  • Conducting additional analytics for replacement planning and tracking as needed.
  • Accurately record quote line-item details and assign capital asset information per financial policies and assign client capital equipment identification tags.
  • Reviewing asset disposition requests for accuracy.
  • Facilitating the completion of disposition-related ledger transactions.
  • Generating communications for asset disposition completion.

Qualifications


Required Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or business/finance
  • Minimum of 3 years working Pharma, Biotech or related healthcare or chemical industry
  • Inventory & Lab Management experience
  • Hands-on bench research experience & familiarity/experience in a research lab/environment and familiarity with lab equipment
  • Scientifically conversant in basic biology or chemistry principles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Adept at both data entry as well as developing tracking/reporting outputs and data analysis
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and independently when required
  • Well organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task
  • Understanding of financial management of CapEx (Capital Expenditures) and business processes – Capital equipment orders, transactions, financial ledger asset management quotes from vendors
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and Power BI

Preferred Experience

  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Experience with SAP and/or Ariba

Additional Information


The position is full-time, first shift, Monday-Friday. Candidates must be flexible to adapt to schedule changes requiring shift changes and/or weekend work, and overtime may be required as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Rahway, NJ are encouraged to apply. This position will be hybrid with a minimum of 3 days on-site.
