The Emerging Devices organization (Z1) is looking for a Data Scientist that has superb analytical, technical, business and communication skills to be able to work with marketing, product and technology leaders. They will define and prioritize key business questions, build data sets, statistical models and analyses that answer those questions. This role requires an individual with marketing or product analytics background, exceptionally strong quantitative modeling skills and experience using statistical methods to produce actionable customer insights. Additionally, this role will need to understand the process to build and evaluate supervised classification models.
Key job responsibilities
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical work to a non-technical audience
- The ability to work with minimal guidance, be proactive and to handle ambiguity and the challenge of quickly evolving goals
- Deliver insights to help shape strategy across a wide spectrum of business and technology areas, including customer post-purchase lifecycle and product feature enhancements
- Work with Data Engineering partners to establish requirements for tools to evaluate and deploy LLM-based classification models
- Lead research and development of customer acquisition propensity and customer segmentation models
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis and provide expertise around statistical methods to help product and marketing stakeholders make decisions
- Establish end-to-end and maintain baseline reporting products for product lifecycle engagement.
- 3+ years of data scientist experience
- 3+ years of machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques, and parameters that affect their performance experience
- 3+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
- Experience in communicating technically, at a level appropriate for the audience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with industry data visualization tools (Tableau, Quicksight, PowerBI)
- Experience in a ML or data scientist role with a large technology company
- Master's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, data science, business analytics, economics, finance, engineering, or computer science
- Experience evaluating and deploying supervised classification models
- Experience with AWS products (Quicksight, S3, Redshift, Sagemaker)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $125,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
