Job Description – Senior Data Scientist / AI Engineer (Consulting Role)

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Data Scientist / AI Engineer with a proven track record (5+ years) in designing, deploying, and optimizing AI-driven solutions on Microsoft Azure. The candidate must bring deep expertise in MLOps, Responsible AI, and Generative AI, with extensive hands-on experience in building scalable, production-grade AI systems that drive business impact. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a consulting environment, collaborating with industry leaders, supporting pre-sales efforts, and mentoring junior team members while delivering impactful AI solutions across diverse industries. This role is based in Egypt (Cairo), with the expectation of traveling across Middle Eastern client locations (KSA, UAE, Qatar) as required.

Responsibilities

1. Support clients in ideating & prioritizing various business problems that can be solved using AI solutions
2. AI Solution Development & Deployment - Lead hands-on end-to-end AI/ML projects implementation, ensuring scalability, performance, and business impact.
3. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and clients to understand their business objectives, gather relevant data, and design solutions that drive actionable insights.
4. Work closely with clients and stakeholders to understand business challenges and provide AI-driven recommendations.
5. Support Presales activities – Develop point of view and thought leadership documentations, Develop quick AI prototypes, proof-of-concepts (PoCs), and client demos to support business development and pre-sales efforts.
6. Translate complex AI concepts into actionable insights for business leaders and non-technical stakeholders.
7. Team Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing - Mentor and guide junior data scientists, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
8. Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI, Generative AI, and MLOps, incorporating best practices into client projects, and support publishing of thought leadership initiatives

Qualifications

1. Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in AI/ML, with a strong consulting background
• Must have worked on at least three of the following use cases types – Natural Language Processing (NLP) , Predictive Modeling & Classification , Time-Series Forecasting , Simulation & Optimization , Computer Vision , Graph Analytics, Recommender Systems, Anomaly Detection
• Proven track record in deploying AI solutions on Microsoft Azure
• Proven experience of implementing at least one Generative AI use case

2.Technical Expertise

• Strong programming skills in Python, R, and SQL, with expertise in ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-Learn.
• Proficiency in designing end-to-end AI pipelines, integrating ML Models with data sources, business applications; MLOps implementation, including automated model deployment, CI/CD, & monitoring strategies.
• Hands-on experience in Responsible AI implementation, ensuring fairness, explainability, and ethical AI governance.
• Hands-on experience in GenAI Implementation or Agentic AI implementation will be preferred

3.Preferred Industry Experience

• Prior experience in AI implementation within at least one of the following sectors: Oil & Gas, Financial Services, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Real Estate , Tourism , Government/Citizen Services , Mobility , Energy & Utilities, Telecom

4.Consulting & Leadership Skills

• Strong stakeholder management and client engagement skills, with experience in working on AI consulting projects.
• Pre-sales experience with the ability to build quick PoCs, AI demos, and support business development efforts.
