Data Solutions Manager, Senior

Position Overview

The Data Solutions Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the Hanford Enterprise Data Management (EDM) program and related operational support activities. This key leadership role provides strategic direction, operational management, and fosters an environment of innovation through the transformation of how data is defined, captured, governed and reported on across the scope of our contract.


This position will manage a data team who will be responsible for delivering data solutions that meet the customer’s expectations. The Data Solutions Manager will also be working closely with their counterparts within the Hanford Contractors and OSC Technical Solutions (OSCTS) leadership.


Major Activities (Typical Duties/Responsibilities)

  • Work with the HMIS EDM Manager and other Hanford Contractors to drive the direction of the EDM program.
  • Coordinate work activities for the OSCTS data Team
  • Manage the OSCTS Data Team direct reports to include
    • Ensuring accurate and timely timecard submissions
    • Employee goals
    • Employee training objectives
  • Perform other duties as appropriate and as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Data Management, Data Architecture and Data Governance.
  • Experience in managing distributed teams.
  • Experience with On-Prem, Cloud and SaaS solutions for Data Storage, Processing and Management.
  • Experience with Data Security models.
  • Project Management experience, especially with Agile Methodologies, especially with Azure Dev Ops.
  • In-depth understanding of database structure principles.
  • Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements.
  • Knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques.
  • Expertise with enterprise data management in SQL, Oracle, or other industry standard databases.
  • Experience with data visualization, data migration and data modeling.
  • Ability to make decisions, solve problems, and exercise excellent judgment.
  • Superior organizational, follow-up, and detail-oriented skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; including thorough knowledge of proper grammar, advanced vocabulary, spelling, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills: ability to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff, affiliated-company employees as well as outside business associates; exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others. Demonstrated ability to drive organizational innovation and efficiency.
  • High degree of sensitivity regarding confidential information.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office products, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and industry-standard computer software and databases.


Physical Abilities

  • Sufficient fine motor skills for the use of computers, calculators with an ability to withstand repetitive keyboarding for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to kneel, bend and twist at the waist on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to push, pull, carry and lift objects weighing up to 10 pounds on a regular basis, and greater weights on an occasional basis.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 8 or more years of management experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Must be able to obtain a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) badge.
  • Must have identification compliant with the Real ID Act at time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • In-depth understanding of database structure principles.
  • Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements.
  • Knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques.
  • Expertise with enterprise data management in SQL, Oracle, or other industry standard databases.

Pay Range: Pay Range: $156, 400 - $237,000
