The Opportunity

As a Data Specialist at CFUF, you will provide data management and support to CFUF under the Director of Research & Evaluation. They will work closely with directors and staff to identify and fulfill data needs and present actionable insights via data reports. The data specialist will perform recurring data pulls from the Apricot Data management software and data analyses for regular reporting, with opportunities to refine current data workflows. They will play a role in optimizing the organization’s data assets and ensure data quality through cleaning and validation.


What to Expect from This Opportunity

  • Act as a quality assurance officer for all programs, including monitoring data input by staff, creating and running queries, working with staff to correct data inaccuracies, and addressing data integrity issues.
  • Perform data analyses and compile internal reports for program and organizational improvement and to assess grant/contract performance to maximize outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain existing data dashboards and data briefs to effectively share data with diverse audiences (e.g. program directors, program staff, members).
  • Establish and maintain a detailed inventory of the organization’s data assets and identify gaps and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and execute data documentation processes for data collected via the Apricot Data management software for all programs.
  • Develop new and maintain existing processes for regularly extracting data and maintaining historical back-ups.
  • Assist in developing data-driven strategies and goals for the organization.
  • Make recommendations to management regarding enhancements or upgrades to current data systems that would improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide data quality training to team members within the organization, including training staff on the use of Apricot Data management software.
  • Update and implement data access and privacy policies for the organization.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Data Science, Statistics, or related field strongly preferred.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience performing quality assurance, data analysis, or closely related work.
  • Additional education (e.g. Masters degree) can be substituted for experience.


What Sets You Apart

  • Experience in database management and quality assurance required – ETO and/or Apricot data management system preferred.
  • Knowledge of relational databases, and familiarity with statistical packages (e.g. R, Stata) and analysis techniques preferred.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI) preferred.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative skills, including ability to collect, compile and analyze data for performance management and program improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships, influence others, and offer strategic perspective.
  • Must work well within a team and independent environment, as well as value a collaborative work setting.
  • Compassionate and invested in working with disadvantaged individuals, families, and communities.


Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM—this position offers one day of remote work per week
