Summary/Objective

The Data Strategist’s role will be responsible for the management and analysis of business data for use in decision making and organizational efficiency improvement initiatives. The Data Strategist will have expertise in extracting and assessing qualitative and/or quantitative patterns, trends and other relationships from large amounts of data and advising leadership on areas for process improvement. This role will require working in both Coralville and Muscatine, Iowa.


Essential Functions

  • Aggregates and performs statistical analysis on business data based on requests from project teams or senior leadership.
  • Integrates data from multiple data sources or functional areas, ensures data accuracy and integrity, and updates data as needed.
  • Develops and implements data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality.
  • Writes queries or reports to provide data for various analytical projects.
  • Interprets data to identify business trends, conduct root cause analysis of business problems, or suggest areas for process improvement.
  • Works closely with management to prioritize business and information needs.
  • Locates and defines new process improvement opportunities.
  • All other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

The following are the minimum requirements for the position, which may be satisfied by an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • A bachelor’s degree in data analytics or similar field is required. If an applicant does not have the educational requirements, 5-7 years of experience in the field is appropriate for consideration of employment.
  • Technical and design expertise.
  • Expertise in mining and extrapolating relevant data sets.
  • Experience with relational databases or visualization tools.
  • NTT Software, Quickbooks and 1099 Processing highly preferred
  • Basic accounting knowledge is required, as well as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills to the general degree.

  • Ask questions that enhance the understanding of a certain topic
  • Relay information and/or instruction in a descriptive and understandable fashion in both written and verbal forms
  • Demonstrated high level of attention to detail
  • Basic-level, reasoning abilities are necessary to understand and follow basic instruction from supervisory positions either in writing or verbally.

  • This position will be based in both Coralville and Muscatine, Iowa.
  • This position operates in a fast-paced, business-casual office environment with a moderate noise level. The employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions throughout the year during work-related travel.
