About the Role:
We are seeking a highly analytical and technically fluent Data & Tracking Specialist who can bridge business performance with deep technical tracking expertise. This role is ideal for someone who understands ecommerce metrics at a granular level—from top-of-funnel acquisition through retention, subscription lifecycle, and LTV—and can confidently audit, validate, and optimize our entire tracking ecosystem. You will not just report on numbers; you will ensure their integrity, interpret their meaning, and translate store data into clear strategic insight.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business & Funnel Performance Analysis
- Conduct full-funnel analysis across acquisition, conversion, retention, and subscription lifecycle
- Analyze channel performance across paid media, organic, email, and retention programs
- Monitor and interpret ecommerce KPIs including CAC, MER, ROAS, AOV, CVR, LTV, churn, renewal rate, MRR, and contribution margin
- Diagnose revenue shifts, conversion changes, and customer behavior trends
- Provide actionable recommendations to improve profitability and store health
2. Ecommerce Platform & Store Health Intelligence
- Evaluate overall business performance using store data
- Identify revenue leaks, attribution gaps, or funnel inefficiencies
- Create dashboards and reports that clearly communicate performance to leadership
- Reconcile performance across Shopify, GA4, and attribution tools such as Triple Whale
3. Subscription & Retention Analytics
- Analyze subscription lifecycle metrics including churn, retention curves, and cohort LTV
- Support optimization of subscription flows and retention strategies
- Integrate subscription data with overall ecommerce performance analysis
4. Email & Lifecycle Performance (Klaviyo)
- Analyze campaign and flow performance within Klaviyo
- Evaluate deliverability, segmentation, automation, and revenue attribution
- Ensure data consistency between Shopify, Klaviyo, and tracking platforms
5. GA4, Attribution & Advanced Tracking Analysis
- Expert-level understanding of GA4 structure, events, and ecommerce tracking
- Analyze user behavior, pathing, attribution, and engagement metrics
- Identify discrepancies between Shopify, GA4, and ad platforms
- Work with attribution platforms (e.g., Triple Whale) to validate blended performance
- Build custom reports and explorations in GA4 to uncover actionable insights
6. Technical Tracking & Tag Management
- Manage and optimize Google Tag Manager implementations
- Configure and validate web pixels and customer event tracking
- Implement and audit tracking across GA4, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Google Ads, and server-side tracking
- Ensure proper configuration and data flow across Shopify, GA4, Triple Whale, Recharge, and Klaviyo
7. Technical Tracking Audit (Critical Requirement)
- Conduct comprehensive audits of Shopify tracking infrastructure
- Review all tracking implementations across store and analytics platforms
- Validate event firing, parameter accuracy, and ecommerce data structure
- Identify tracking gaps, duplication issues, inflated numbers, or broken flows
- Document findings and deliver clear remediation plans
- Implement fixes or collaborate with developers to resolve technical issues
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in ecommerce analytics, preferably within Shopify environments
- Deep understanding of ecommerce financial metrics and performance drivers
- Hands-on expertise with Shopify analytics, GA4, GTM, web pixels, Recharge, Klaviyo, and attribution platforms
- Strong SQL skills preferred
- Experience conducting technical tracking audits
- Highly detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to translate complex data into clear business insights
What Success Looks Like in This Role:
- Leadership has complete confidence in the accuracy of store data
- All tracking systems and attribution platforms are properly configured, documented, and validated
- Business decisions are driven by clean, reliable analytics
- Revenue growth opportunities are proactively identified
- Attribution discrepancies are minimized and explained
- Subscription and retention performance is continuously optimized
Who You Are:
You are both analytical and technical. You understand numbers deeply and can read the health of a business by looking at its full ecommerce data ecosystem, not just one platform. You are as comfortable debugging a broken pixel as you are presenting performance insights to leadership. You don’t just report data—you ensure its integrity, interpret its meaning, and use it to drive strategic growth.
