Job Description:
- Job DescriptionQualified candidates are being considered for Internship within the Database Operations group at C&R Software, Bangalore. These candidates shall possess a strong educational background in Computer Science with concentration on database design and are expected to work on small to medium scale ETL, Reports and database design and development projects. During the Internship candidates shall undergo trainings and will be expected to contribute to projects which focus on data engineering and development involving multiple technologies. Due to covid related restrictions, candidates are expected to work from home, however, may be called to office for working/training/internship from office.Role / Responsibilities:
- Understand project requirements and assist in database changes and implementation in both CQA and Production.
- Design database schemas and create Entity relationship design and diagrams.
- Create reference and test data based on business requirements.
- Develop/Maintain reference and test data load process.
- Follow and maintain enterprise data naming standards and schema object naming.
- Develop/maintain scripts to upgrade existing database schemas for each new release.
- Work with transactional databases to solve performance issues by applying Database design best practices.
- Perform database administration tasks.
- Assist in turning business and technical specifications into data extraction/load programs.
- Assist in turning business and technical specifications into reports.
- Program ETL tool with business rules to be applied to data from source input to target data repository.
- Create ETL mappings documents and perform extracts and imports of large datasets.
- Develop and assist in implementing system and unit test programs.
- Perform data conversion, quality, and integrity checks for all programs/processes.
- Report progress status to the team manager.
- Able to write PL/SQL and understand SQL Statements.
- Understand database level security and permissions.
Skills / Education Requirements:- Undergraduate / Graduate in Computer Science or Computer Applications such as B.Sc./B.C.A./B.Tech./B. E./M.Sc./M.Tech./M.E./M.C.A.
- Good communication skills including verbal and writing skills.
- Good Knowledge of RDBMS concepts on MySQL/Oracle / MS SQL Server / AWS Aurora (PostgreSQL) etc. preferred.
- Good Knowledge of ETL Tools / Technologies such as SSIS / Kettle / Informatica etc. preferred.
- Good Knowledge of Reporting Tools / Technologies such as SSRS/ Tableau/Crystal reports etc. preferred.
- Knowledge of Operating Systems such as LINUX scripting etc. preferred.
- Knowledge of Database Query Tools / Technologies such as T-SQL / PL-SQL etc. preferred.
