Database Administrator

About the Role

Habib Bank AG Zurich is seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and support critical enterprise database platforms. The role is responsible for ensuring database performance, security, availability, and data integrity across banking systems.

Key Responsibilities

· Administer and support, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Sybase ASE, and Microsoft SQL Server databases

· Perform database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting

· Manage backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability

· Implement and support database replication and high-availability solutions

· Ensure database security, access control, and compliance with banking standards

· Monitor database health, capacity, and performance proactively

· Plan and support database upgrades, patches, and migrations

· Work closely with application, infrastructure, and security teams

· Document database procedures and ensure adherence to best practices

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field

· 5+ years of hands-on experience in database administration

Preferred Certifications & Skills

· Microsoft SQL Server Certification

· Strong experience with enterprise and mission-critical databases

· Solid understanding of data protection, recovery, and high availability

· Experience in banking or regulated environments is a strong advantage
