Database Specialist

Key Responsibilities
● Design, implement, and maintain relational and NoSQL databases.
● Monitor database performance and optimize queries, indexes, and schemas.
● Ensure data integrity, security, and high availability across environments.
● Perform backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
● Develop and maintain stored procedures, triggers, and scripts for automation.
● Collaborate with development and DevOps teams on database design and scaling
strategies.
● Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in production and staging.
● Stay updated on emerging database technologies and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

● 3–5 years of professional experience as a Database Specialist / DBA.
● Strong proficiency in SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or
Oracle).
● Hands-on experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, or Redis).
● Experience in database performance tuning and query optimization.
● Knowledge of replication, clustering, sharding, and partitioning.
● Familiarity with backup and recovery tools and strategies.
● Strong understanding of data security, encryption, and compliance practices.
● Experience with Linux environments and basic shell scripting.
● Good knowledge of Git / version control and team collaboration workflows.

Good to Have (Preferred)
● Experience working with blockchain or distributed ledger data storage.
● Knowledge of cloud-managed database services (AWS RDS, Aurora, GCP Cloud
SQL, etc.).
● Familiarity with big data platforms (Hadoop, Spark).
● Exposure to DevOps tools for database automation (Ansible, Terraform).
● Certifications in database administration or cloud platforms.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED10,000.00 - AED12,000.00 per month

Experience:

• SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL or Oracle): 3 years (Preferred)
• NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis): 3 years (Preferred)
• Database performance tuning & query optimization : 3 years (Preferred)
• Linux environments, shell scripting, Git/version control : 3 years (Preferred)
