Database Tester

The Role

• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into test scenarios • Design, develop, and execute test cases for functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT) • Perform end-to-end database testing, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across systems • Execute data quality checks using ICEDQ (or similar tools) to validate business rules and data standards • Ensure traceability of test cases to requirements and maintain comprehensive test documentation. • Identify, log, and track defects using tools like JIRA, and work closely with development teams for resolution. • Analyze test results, report findings, and provide input to improve application quality and user experience. • Validate backend data using SQL queries to ensure data consistency, integrity, and accuracy across systems. • Adhere to banking and financial services regulations and compliance standards during testing cycles.

Requirements

• 4-5 years of experience in database testing and data validation • Hands-on experience with SQL (joins, aggregations, subqueries) for data validation • Exposure to data quality tools such as ICEDQ or similar frameworks • Experience in data reconciliation and source-to-target validation • Understanding of banking products such as loans, credit, or core banking systems • Familiarity with defect tracking tools like JIRA • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills • Excellent communication skills for effective stakeholder interaction
