Major Duties and Responsibilities
v Playing on the children’s level
v Dressing and undressing children
v Cleaning classrooms daily
v Diaper changes/Potty training
v Clean tables after each meal
v Sweep floors under meal tables
v Sweep and vacuum daily
v Prepare snacks and meals
v Retrieving meals from the kitchen upstairs
v Take out the trash
v Take children outside for walks and to the playground
v Assisting on field trips
v Assisting at nap time
v Dishes- loading and unloading dishwasher, washing dishes
v Meeting children on their individual level
v Bottles/feeding infants
v Eat meals with children (Family style)-Communication throughout meals about daily activities
v Inform Facilitator when inventory is low, or equipment needs repair
v Report concerns regarding children to Facilitator in a timely matter
v Attend meetings as requested
v Responsible for the health, welfare, and safety of children in designated groups
v Assist in Intergenerational activities
v Abide by applicable policies and procedures
v Complete paperwork on children daily
v Flexibility to move to other positions
v Possess a sincere commitment to the philosophy of Suncrest Daycare and LCMCF

Maintain professionalism with co-workers, families, children and in the classrooms

Required Qualifications

v High school graduate or equivalent preferred

v Child Development Associates preferred or willing to obtain

v Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

v Must be able to read, follow oral directions and write legibly

v Must be honest, trustworthy and possess tolerance for all individuals

v Must be able to communicate with other departments

v Must have good physical and mental health. You will fill out an employee health history

v Must be able to work with little or no supervision

v Able to work with employees, residents, families, physicians, therapists, and consultants

v Must be able to handle multiple tasks with interruptions

v Able to handle numerous projects/problems with high degree of accuracy and organization

v Must have a pleasant personality and good telephone skills

Physical Requirements/Risk Exposure
v Bend, twist, and stoop on a regular basis and be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
v Tasks assigned to this position involve potential and/or direct exposure to blood or body fluids
v Be able to get up and down from the floor

Staff Development
v Attend and participate in scheduled training and educational classes, as required for certification
v Attend and participate in scheduled orientation programs and activities.
v Attend and complete monthly mandatory in-services
v Complete continuing education hours on our own annually

The Daycare Aide supports the daily care and supervision of children in a childcare setting. This role assists teachers and childcare staff in creating a safe, clean, and engaging environment where children can learn, play, and develop social skills. Responsibilities may include supervising children during activities, helping with meals and snacks, maintaining classroom cleanliness, assisting with learning activities, and ensuring children follow daily routines. The Daycare Aide also helps monitor children’s safety and well-being while promoting positive behavior and age-appropriate development.

This position requires patience, attentiveness, and the ability to work cooperatively with staff, children, and families to support a positive childcare environment
