Day Porter

We are looking for a Day Porter to service the greater Sacramento area using our vehicles and equipment. Applicants should have open availability and be able to work a shift from 7:00 am until 3:30 pm any day of the week.

Day Porters are responsible for the cleanliness of retail shopping centers, offices, parks, warehouses, and other types of commercial properties. The specific duties are as follows:

• Work in all weather elements, and be on your feet most of the day.
• Safely drive a company vehicle from location to location, and through parking lots.
• Change out trash receptacles with new liners and dispose in approved dumpsters.
• Wipe down lids, ash urns, window mullions, tables, and benches.
• Replace black sand for ash urns as needed.
• Remove cobwebs from the building, pillars, windows, etc.
• Police trash enclosures and report any illegal dumping, transient problems, or homeless camps.
• Ensure all debris is off the ground within the enclosures.
• Remove minor graffiti using approved methods, report large graffiti to management.
• Remove litter and debris from common areas, the parking lot and islands, landscaping areas, and the perimeter of the property.
• Report any homeless or transient issues, defects or damage anywhere on the property, abandoned cars, or anything out of the ordinary.
• Be able to lift 25 pounds.

The ability to perform a variety of skilled building maintenance tasks is a prerequisite for earning the top wages offered for this position. These duties extend beyond routine cleaning and porter responsibilities.

Must be eligible to be added to a commercial auto policy. This typically means someone over the age of 23, who has had their license for 5 years, and has a record free of major violations or multiple points. Eligibility will be determined prior to formal job offer.

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
