SUMMARY

The Supervisor, Day Program, oversees, monitors, and coordinates the daily operations of a day program providing services to individuals. This position communicates with the staff, consumers, parents/guardians, and consumers' team members to ensure that appropriate services and supports are provided, and is responsible for coordinating day program activities consistent with consumer personal support/habilitation plans.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below:
  • Oversees the daily operation of the Day Program.
  • Serves as administrative supervisor for all Day Program personnel (excluding clinical specialists) including hiring, performance evaluation and disciplinary action.
  • Maintains a safe environment at the day program.
  • Ensures that day program placement and the schedules of clients align with each individual’s requirements.
  • Updates and implements medication sheets for all individuals served.
  • Coordinates transportation for all medical appointments during day program hours.
  • Ensures that the Day Program is in compliance with the standards of all applicable state and private certification and licensing agencies.
    • Completes monthly inspections and implements corrective action as necessary
    • Cooperates with the licensee and Department of Human Services in any inspection or investigation.
    • Ensures all vehicles have proper documentation and compliance with state and licensing agencies and regular maintenance is maintained.
    • Implements all safety and fire procedures at day program according to all regulations and standards
  • Maintains monthly budgets and required documentation.
  • Completes payroll documentation for all day program employees.
  • Evaluates and orders monthly supplies for the Day Program.
  • Serves on committees as assigned.
  • Performs other related duties and activities as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directs and supervises assigned staff, including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training. Makes decisions on employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and similar actions. Resolves employee problems within position responsibilities.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills required by the Job
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required to perform the job:
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years’ experience in Human Services field
  • 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
  • Must maintain a current valid driver’s license and all required certifications and tests as required by state of operation.

Physical Requirements:
  • Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
