Daycare Assistant

Duties

• Assist lead teachers in implementing daily activities that promote childhood development, including play, learning exercises, and social interactions
• Support children with their personal care routines such as diapering, feeding, and hygiene practices in accordance with safety standards
• Help maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning
• Observe and document children’s progress, behaviors, and interests to inform future activities and support individual needs
• Engage children in age-appropriate activities that foster creativity, social skills, and emotional well-being
• Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and helping children develop good habits
• Communicate effectively with parents or guardians about their child’s day-to-day experiences and developmental milestones

Experience

• Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying or volunteering is highly desirable
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and early education best practices
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is a plus
• Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
• Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; training can be provided if necessary
• Previous experience caring for infants, toddlers or preschool-aged children will enhance your ability to support diverse developmental stages
