Daycare Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Daycare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children and a strong understanding of childhood development. As a Daycare Assistant, you will support the lead teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children aged infants to toddlers. Your role will involve assisting with daily activities, promoting positive behavior, and ensuring the well-being of each child in our care.

Duties

• Assist in the implementation of daily lesson plans and activities that promote learning and development.
• Provide attentive care to children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
• Support children with special needs and disabilities by implementing individualized care plans.
• Foster a positive classroom environment through effective behavior management techniques.
• Engage with children in play, educational activities, and social interactions to enhance their learning experiences.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom and play areas.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child’s progress and any concerns that may arise.
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive approach to childcare.

Requirements

• Experience working with children in a daycare or preschool setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development milestones.
• First aid certification is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with special education practices and working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive environment for all children.
• Previous experience in caregiving roles such as nannying or babysitting is beneficial.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff.
