Daycare Assistant

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Assist with supervising children in daily activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
• Support classroom management by helping organize activities, materials, and learning stations
• Engage children in age-appropriate play, educational activities, and social interactions to promote development
• Follow established health and safety procedures, including basic first aid when necessary
• Collaborate with lead teachers to implement curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment conducive to learning and play
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to support individual needs and developmental progress

Skills

• Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in early childhood education
• Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or similar settings
• Ability to manage classroom behavior with patience and positive reinforcement techniques
• First aid certification and familiarity with basic emergency response procedures
• Strong communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is a plus
• Classroom experience involving toddler care, infant care, or caregiving roles such as nannying or babysitting is highly valued
• Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining a lively, energetic approach to daily routines
