Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare balanced, age-appropriate meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines and menu plans
• Ensure all food handling and preparation practices meet strict food safety standards and sanitation regulations
• Assist in menu planning to incorporate variety, nutritional value, and appealing presentation for children
• Manage food inventory, order supplies as needed, and maintain accurate records of food storage and usage
• Serve meals in a friendly, efficient manner while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen area
• Collaborate with staff to accommodate special dietary needs or allergies among children
• Follow proper knife skills and cooking techniques to prepare high-quality dishes efficiently

Experience

• Previous experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
• Background in food preparation, cooking, or food service within the food industry or restaurant settings
• Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and food handling procedures
• Knowledge of food safety protocols and sanitation standards applicable to childcare environments
• Experience with catering or serving in fine dining or restaurant environments is a plus
• Strong kitchen skills including knife proficiency, meal assembly, and food presentation
• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail
