Daycare cook / worker

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve healthy, age-appropriate meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines and safety standards.
• Assist with supervising children during meal times, ensuring proper behavior and fostering good manners.
• Support classroom activities by engaging with children in play, learning exercises, and developmental tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas to ensure a safe environment.
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation protocols to promote a secure setting for children and staff.
• Collaborate with teachers and caregivers to monitor children’s needs, including diapering or toddler care as required.
• Assist in managing classroom behavior through positive reinforcement techniques and consistent routines.

Skills

• Knowledge of childhood development principles and age-specific caregiving techniques.
• Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or similar settings.
• Familiarity with classroom management strategies and behavior management techniques.
• Ability to perform first aid and CPR to respond effectively in emergencies.
• Strong understanding of special education needs and working with individuals with disabilities.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with staff, parents, and children’s guardians.
• Compassionate caregiving skills with a focus on nurturing infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
