Daycare Teacher

We are a brand-new childcare facility joined with the Lake Union Swim Academy looking to develop a team that can grow together. Every day children utilize our swim programs and drop in childcare within our membership facilities, engaging in activities and building new relationships with our staff and other participants. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise 5-10 children per day with other onsite support.
• Facilitate activities for this drop-in care program.
• Directs and controls the daily operations to ensure the daycare is running per standard operating procedures.
• Assist with monitoring compliance with performance standards and NAC (National Accreditation Commission) requirements with a focus on facilities, health, and safety.
• Maintains current required certifications for self and all staff.
• Ensure medication management and emergency contact procedures are followed.
• Attend program and agency staff meetings and trainings.

Experience and Requirements:

• 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year of professional experience teaching in childcare, daycare, or preschool settings.
• CDA (Child Development Associate Certification), Associate, or bachelor’s degree in early education or related field is preferred.
• Meet all requirements for a Center Director per WA Licensing regulations (WAC) or be willing to get them shortly after joining.
• A thorough knowledge of WAC for childcare centers and a great understanding of developmentally appropriate practices.
• Must meet federal and state health and safety standards and maintain credentials for childcare (1st Aid, CPR, Food Handler, CPS training, pass a TB test).
• Access to a reliable source of transportation.

Job Type: Full-time and Part-Time available

Pay: $30 per hour
