Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Daycare Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for young children, supporting their developmental milestones, and fostering a love of learning. This role requires a strong understanding of childhood development and experience working with children of various ages, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. The Daycare Teacher will collaborate with parents and team members to ensure each child's individual needs are met while maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere.

Duties

  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Supervise children during playtime, meals, naps, and educational activities to ensure safety at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment that encourages learning and exploration.
  • Monitor children's progress and communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's development and behavior.
  • Enforce classroom rules and behavior management strategies to foster respectful interactions among children.
  • Administer basic first aid when necessary and respond promptly to any emergencies or health concerns.
  • Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing individualized care as needed.
  • Follow all licensing regulations, safety protocols, and health guidelines to ensure a secure environment for children.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum plans that align with educational standards.

Skills

  • Experience in early childhood education or classroom management within daycare or preschool settings.
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles, including infant care, toddler care, and preschool education.
  • Ability to work effectively with children of diverse backgrounds and abilities, including those with disabilities.
  • Strong caregiving skills combined with patience, empathy, and excellent communication abilities.
  • Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified.
  • Experience in behavior management techniques suitable for young children.
  • Ability to create engaging activities that promote learning through play while maintaining safety standards.
