Daycare Teacher

Job Summary

Duties

• Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote early literacy, numeracy, social skills, and physical activity
• Foster a positive classroom environment through effective classroom management and behavior guidance strategies
• Support children’s emotional well-being by providing attentive care and encouraging social interactions
• Conduct assessments of children’s developmental progress and tailor activities to meet individual needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services
• Maintain detailed records of daily activities, attendance, and developmental milestones
• Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate progress, address concerns, and share strategies for continued growth
• Organize engaging lessons that incorporate Montessori methods or other educational philosophies to enhance learning experiences

Requirements

• Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or similar early childhood settings is highly preferred
• Must be CPR/First Aid Certified
• Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and classroom management techniques
• Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, and literacy education strategies
• Experience supporting children with special needs or in early intervention programs is a plus
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members
• Ability to manage a classroom environment that promotes safety, learning, and positive behavior
• Certification in early childhood education or related fields is advantageous; ongoing professional development encouraged
• Passion for nurturing young minds through innovative teaching methods such as Montessori or preschool approaches
