About The Continental Hotel and Lucile's

The Continental Hotel is a historic boutique hotel on the Centerville square. It was called a "hidden gem" by the Des Moines Register and are proud of our high star ratings on various travel sites. We have 28 spacious rooms and are known for our friendly customer service and clean rooms.

Lucile's is an American restaurant in The Continental that was recognized for serving one of Iowa's Top 10 Burgers in 2024 and 2020.

Availability

Must be available to work Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. No previous experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare salads and wraps according to recipes and portion sizes
• Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met in the kitchen
• Assist with inventory management
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation
• Follow dietary restrictions and special requests for meals
• Maintain a clean and organized work area

Skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
• Familiarity with the food preparation and food safety practices
• Willingness to help others and work as part of a team

Abilities

• Must be able to stand for 4 to eight hour shifts
• Must be able to climb stairs and move nimbly around kitchen
• Must regularly be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
