Position: DBA (Migration) – PostgreSQL & AWS DocumentDB

Location: Lahore / Islamabad / Karachi

Experience: Up to 3 Years (Relevant)

Salary: PKR 180,000 to PKR 280,000

HireOn is recruiting on behalf of its international client for a talented Database Engineer / DBA (Migration) who is passionate about database management and large-scale migration projects. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of database structures, memory and process handling, and hands-on experience with migration involving PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DocumentDB, MySQL, and Oracle—preferably using AWS Database Migration Services (AWS DMS).

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with technical leads to plan and execute successful database migrations.
• Analyze and optimize database systems for performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Develop and validate migration plans, ensuring database readiness post-migration.
• Work closely with application and infrastructure teams to ensure business continuity and SLA compliance.
• Implement and maintain database security, backup, recovery, and replication processes.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and provide optimization recommendations.
• Support continuous improvement through documentation, monitoring, and automation of database tasks.
  
  

Requirements

• Up to 3 years of experience in database deployment, management, and migration.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, AWS DocumentDB / MongoDB, and AWS DMS preferred.
• Understanding of database concepts such as Backup/Recovery, Replication, Clustering, Sharding, and Change Data Capture (CDC).
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases and experience in DocumentDB is a plus.
• Exposure to ETL/ELT pipelines and data engineering workflows is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of OLTP and OLAP workloads is a plus.
