Position Summary:

The Delivery Driver and Warehouse Associate ensures timely, accurate, and safe delivery of products to customers while adhering to food safety and handling standards. This role involves maintaining delivery schedules, assisting with shipping and logistics, timely reporting of vehicle maintenance needs, and complying with company protocols. Additionally, the driver will perform essential warehouse-related tasks, such as cleaning, organization, packing, loading, food safety procedures, and monitoring the quality of active inventory.

Key Responsibilities:Delivery Operations

  • Deliver food service products to restaurants, hotels, homes, and other clients on assigned routes and schedules. This will include delivery to Portland Airport for Aircargo shipments to out of state customers.
  • Ensure accurate and complete delivery of orders, verifying invoices and delivery notes with customers.
  • Load and unload products safely using hand trucks, lift gates, or pallet jacks.
  • Drive to vendor or client locations to pick up and deliver products as needed.
  • Verify and check products during pickup and packing to ensure quality and accuracy.

General Warehouse Duties

  • Keep the warehouse clean and organized, following safety protocols.
  • Ensure the proper handling of food products to prevent contamination and spoilage.
  • Follow food safety guidelines, including sanitation standards and proper storage procedures.
  • Conduct regular inventory updates to stock levels.
  • Assist in tracking stock usage and reporting discrepancies.
  • Use warehouse management software (BlueTrace) to track & inventory products and monitor stock levels.
  • Quality control of inventory: monitoring, reporting, and correcting products that are or will become unusable.

Shipping & Receiving

  • Pick and pack foodservice orders based on customer requests.
  • Ensure the correct quantities and types of items are selected.
  • Prepare orders for delivery or pickup, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Unload incoming shipments and check for accuracy and damage.
  • Verify quantities and inspect food products for quality.
  • Store food items according to proper storage guidelines (e.g., refrigeration, dry storage, rotation, etc).
  • Label and organize inventory in proper locations to ensure easy access and rotation.

HACCP Compliance and Food Safety

  • Maintain and verify daily temperature logs for seafood, shellfish, and other perishable items.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) standards; training will be provided.
  • Complete daily Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
  • Document traceability for products, including wild-foraged goods check-in and check-out procedures.

Vehicle Maintenance and Safety

  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure safe operation of delivery vehicles.
  • Identify vehicle concerns, report necessary repairs, and maintain detailed vehicle records.

Workplace and Employee Safety

  • Participate in and maintain records of employee safety training.
  • Ensure the workplace and delivery processes comply with company safety standards.

Qualifications:Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in delivery driving, logistics, or food service is a plus.
  • Familiarity with HACCP standards and SSOPs is preferred but not required (training provided).

Licenses and Certifications

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) may be required for larger vehicles.
  • Food safety certification is a plus but not mandatory.

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong time-management skills with the ability to meet tight delivery schedules.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude to assist with vehicle maintenance.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to [insert weight, e.g., 50 lbs]) safely and repeatedly.

Working Conditions

  • Frequent driving and loading/unloading in various weather conditions.
  • Flexible schedule based on delivery needs, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Work may require the use of protective gear when handling specific items.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
