The Delivery Merchandiser plays a critical role in ensuring the effective presentation of products in stores to attract customers and drive sales. This position involves delivering products, setting up visually appealing displays, maintaining inventory, and building strong relationships with store personnel to maximize the visibility and sales potential of the brand’s products.
Delivery and Logistics:
- Deliver a variety of items to different locations through planned routes and schedules.
- Load, unload, inspect, and operate delivery vehicles while adhering to safety standards and regulations.
- Stock promotional materials and products from the warehouse to stores or between stores.
Merchandising and Display Management:
- Arrange and display products on shelves, end caps, and displays in an organized and visually appealing manner.
- Increase product visibility by optimizing shelf positioning (e.g., eye-level placement).
- Monitor stock levels, replenish inventory as needed, and ensure compliance with first-in, first-out (FIFO) inventory practices.
- Place accurate price tags, labels, and promotional materials to highlight discounts and offers.
Customer and Store Engagement:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with store managers and staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Stay informed about product features and benefits to assist customers and provide recommendations.
- Respond to customer feedback, address complaints, and resolve issues promptly.
Data and Compliance:
- Collect and report data on product sales, inventory levels, and customer preferences to supervisors.
- Monitor competitors’ displays and strategies, providing actionable insights for improving merchandising techniques.
- Ensure all products and displays comply with health and safety standards and store policies.
Operations and Problem-Solving:
- Monitor stock returns, address expiry issues, and minimize customer compensation (e.g., due to pricing errors).
- Coordinate with store personnel to resolve inventory challenges such as overstocking or stock shortages.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records, including delivery logs, payments, and reports.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in merchandising or sales are a plus.
- Previous experience in delivery to retail outlets· Merchandising experience in a related field.
- Proficiency in operating delivery vehicles and familiarity with GPS navigation.
