Position Summary
Level: Analyst/Consultant
As an experienced Analyst at Deloitte Consulting, you will be responsible for individually delivering high quality work products within due timelines.
Work you’ll do:
As an Employer Health Analyst, you will assist in providing strategic and technical employee benefit consulting services to plan sponsors (e.g., employers, municipal governments, and similar employer-sponsored arrangements).

Provide day-to-day direct client service as their primary contact
- Build lasting relationships with clients based on excellent service
- Prepare self-insured financial projections and support health plan management including financial reporting, premium rate setting, and employee contributions
- Conduct employee benefits studies (benchmarking, modeling alternative designs)
- Develop robust benefits strategies, including plan offerings and design
- Manage/conduct RFPs for medical, dental, pharmacy, life, and disability programs, including development, administration, proposal evaluation, vendor selection, negotiation, and implementation
- Review and negotiate premium rate/administrative fee renewals
- Advise clients on emerging industry trends, best practices, regulatory/legislative updates, and compliance deadlines, including confirming Medicare Part D Creditable Coverage
- Evaluate vendors by reviewing services and contracts, performance guarantees, and renewals
- Review claims utilization data and analyze the performance of health plans compared to strategy
- Serve as an extension of the Human Resources team and assist with other ad hoc requests or issues as needed
- Prepare client presentations and reports (generally in PPT)
- Serve as a project manager and assist in mentoring junior resources on the project team
- Conduct other general health & welfare consulting activities, as requiredvarious employers.

Qualifications
Must Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:
- 1-6 years of brokerage and/or U.S. health/welfare benefits consulting experience

Underwriting experience
- Strong understanding of U.S. health care system and plan design
- Strong critical thinking and technical skills
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and follow through
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with little/no direct supervision
- Well organized with the ability to handle/lead several projects/clients simultaneously
- Comfortable with ambiguity (and able to pivot)
- Comfortable with hard work and occasional late nights, especially during busy times of the year
- Expert proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Good to Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:
- Knowledge of other U.S. health & welfare benefit plans (e.g., life, disability, dental, etc.)
- Comfort with U.S. Total Rewards programs (compensation, retirement, etc.)
- Pursuing actuarial exams; decent exam progress
- Excellent oral and written communications skills; ability to communicate effectively with clients
- Excellent mentoring skills
Education:
- Graduation/Post Graduation with mathematics/statistics or any subject with sizeable mathematical content or any degree with demonstrated abilities with math, spreadsheets and PowerPoint
