Demand Planner

This position will be located at our Hampton Farms office in Raleigh, NC as hybrid.


The Company

Hampton Farms is the leading In-Shell Peanut Company in the US. We are also a leading producer of other types of nuts and nut butters for the retail and commercial markets. You can find our product in most grocery stores and major league baseball stadiums. We distribute under the Hampton Farms brand and are also a leading private label manufacturer.


During first couple weeks of training this position will be traveling to the Rocky Mount, NC office a couple times a week.


Job Purpose

Analyze current and historical sales trends to develop and recommend a monthly Sales Demand driven forecast to cross functional Supply Chain Departments, Marketing, Sales, and Manufacturing. The tactical monthly forecast will be developed, tuned and maintained in Category Demand Planning tool at the brand, packing, and location SKU levels. The planner will utilize a thorough knowledge of the business environment and forecast modeling techniques to generate accurate forecasts.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Generate statistical forecasts by utilizing:
  • Customer forecasts/data
  • Commercial forecasts
  • Marketing and promotional data
  • Historical data
  • Customer POS data
  • Identify gaps between statistical and commercial forecasts.
  • Manage forecasts across multiple planning periods (weekly, monthly, annually).
  • Act as a liaison between Sales and Supply Planning teams to ensure opportunities are properly vetted and executed.
  • Identify gaps in actuals and forecasts and drive business decisions to resynchronize demand and supply.
  • Ensure the ERP system has the proper demand information to drive supply activities.
  • Implement geographic elements to larger forecasts to aid in distribution planning.
  • Actively participate in the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process to align demand forecasts with production plans, budgets, and overall business objectives.
  • Co-manage, develop, and maintain key reporting for the Demand Planning process.
  • Engage and lead ad-hoc projects as required.


Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ Years experience generating statistical forecasts utilizing multiple data sources.
  • Knowledgeable in navigating and utilizing ERP systems. NetSuite preferred.
  • Proficiency in statistical modeling and demand planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Blue Yonder, etc.).
  • Experience in combining, manipulating, and analyzing datasets in Microsoft Excel
  • Food manufacturing and our wholesale experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop presentations and communicate effectively across all levels management.


Work Environment - Works in an office environment, using forecasting tools, spreadsheets, and ERP systems to analyze sales and inventory data. The role involves frequent collaboration with supply chain, sales, marketing, and procurement teams to ensure accurate demand planning. While primarily desk-based, it may require occasional meetings, presentations, and coordination with suppliers or distribution centers.
