Responsibilities
Food preparation and cooking: Prepare and cook a diverse range of food items in accordance with established recipes, standards, and menus. This encompasses tasks such as chopping vegetables, grilling meats, and assembling dishes.
Food safety and sanitation: Ensure that all food is handled, stored, and cooked in a safe and hygienic manner. This requires maintaining a clean and organized workspace, equipment, and utensils, while adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Inventory and stock management: Monitor food stock levels, manage product storage, and report shortages or assist in ordering new supplies.
Quality and presentation: Ensure that food is of superior quality and presented attractively before serving. This may include garnishing dishes and ensuring proper portion control.
Kitchen and team support: Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and equipment, and collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff. Some senior positions may also involve training or supervising other cooks.
Customer service: Engage with staff members receiving food, respond to inquiries, and resolve any minor issues that may arise.
