Demulsifier Production

ob Purpose

To lead and contribute to the research, development, formulation, and testing of specialty chemicals—specifically demulsifiers and corrosion inhibitors—for applications in the oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial water treatment industries. The role involves innovation, formulation optimization, product performance evaluation, and technical support to commercial and field teams.

Key Responsibilities

Research & Development

• Design, synthesize, and formulate new demulsifier and corrosion inhibitor chemistries.
• Conduct laboratory-scale and pilot-scale testing to evaluate performance under simulated field conditions.
• Perform structure-property relationship studies to improve product efficiency and stability.
• Modify and optimize existing formulations for cost reduction, improved performance, and regulatory compliance.

Analytical & Application Testing

• Develop and implement testing protocols using techniques such as FTIR, GC-MS, HPLC, TGA, and corrosion testing equipment (e.g., autoclaves, rotating cage, linear polarization resistance).
• Test product compatibility with crude oil, brine, and other field fluids.
• Conduct phase separation studies, bottle testing, and interfacial tension measurements for demulsifiers.
• Perform static and dynamic corrosion tests (weight loss, electrochemical tests).

Technical Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate lab notebooks and write technical reports summarizing findings.
• Generate data for regulatory submissions, product datasheets, and technical marketing materials.
• Contribute to patent filings or publications where applicable.

Collaboration & Support

• Work closely with cross-functional teams including field service, marketing, production, and quality control.
• Support scale-up and commercialization of new products.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for field issues related to emulsions or corrosion.

Qualifications & Skills

Education

• BSc / MSc / PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science.

Experience

• +10 years of experience in formulation and testing of oilfield or industrial specialty chemicals.
• Hands-on experience with demulsifier and/or corrosion inhibitor development is strongly preferred .
