Assisting the Dentist throughout all dental procedures and maintain the dental surgery equipment’s and materials
- Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures
- Take and develop dental radio graphs
- Ask about the patient's medical history and taking blood pressure and pulse and complete dental OPD
assessment as per the NMC assessment policy.
- Help patients feel comfortable before, during and after treatment
- Provide instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
- Provide patients with instructions of oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures
- Ensure operation of dental equipment by competing preventive maintenance requirements; following
manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling repairs; maintain equipment inventories;
evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Teach patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health.
- Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping confidential information.
- Provide material by selecting, mixing and placing materials on instruments.
- Help dentist manage medical and dental emergencies.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional
publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Contribute to team
effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Manage patient records, updating information and ensuring confidentiality and data protection.
- Schedule patient appointments and follow up phone calls.
- Monitor inventory of dental supplies and restock as needed.
- Provide emotional support and clear communication to patients and families when required and following
the instruction of the healthcare professional.
- Adhere to all safety, health, and infection control procedures.
- Speak up, if something isn't right.
- Maintain awareness of and comply with, the NMC Policies and Procedures
Education and Certification
- Diploma in Nursing/ Bachelor’s degree as a dental technology with regulatory license (MOH)
Essential: the post holder must
- Have an appropriate license to work as dental assistant in the relevant regulatory health authority with all
the qualification and experience these mandates.
- Manage their own professional re-licensure.
- Hold a valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card.
- Be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English (spoken and written)
DESIRABLE: The post holder should have:
- Evidenced ability to work as part of an inter-professional team
- Organizational and administrative skills with which to use the electronic medical record platform for clinical
documentation
- Be able to communicate effectively in Arabic
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of basic clinical procedures and healthcare practices.
- Ability to use dental chair, dental equipment’s and understand safety protocols.
· Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare staff. · Organizational skills for managing records and scheduling appointments. · Attention to detail and the ability to follow clinical instructions accurately. · Basic IT skills for handling medical software and patient databases. · Physical stamina for assisting with patient care and clinical tasks. Experience · 1 year experience in relevant role of healthcare experience in UAE will be an advantage
