Dental Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, ensuring infection control, and assisting with various dental procedures. Prior experience with dental software and knowledge of pediatric dentistry, general dentistry, and specialized procedures are highly valued. The position involves working closely with dentists and patients to deliver high-quality dental services while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and infection control standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available
• Take dental X-rays using digital imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and other medical imaging tools
• Manage patient records using EMR systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
• Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort
• Monitor vital signs and assess patient health before procedures as needed
• Maintain infection control protocols through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures
• Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral health practices using appropriate dental terminology
• Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and handling documentation
• Ensure the clinic environment adheres to safety standards related to anatomy knowledge, infection control, and aseptic technique

Skills

• Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic, or similar platforms
• Experience with dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards
• Knowledge of dental terminology across general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, pediatric dentistry, and other specialties
• Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques in a clinical setting
• Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
• Ability to handle medical records management accurately and securely
• Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for pediatric dentistry is preferred

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
