Duties

• Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring a sterile and organized environment
• Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
• Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners while maintaining proper radiation safety protocols
• Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times
• Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort
• Monitor vital signs and assist in medical documentation for patients requiring medical history updates or medical coding
• Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization of instruments according to industry guidelines

Requirements

• Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy
• Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation
• Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures
• Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards
• Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and working with children is highly desirable
• Knowledge of dental assisting tasks including taking vital signs, medical imaging, and assisting with various dental specialties like prosthodontics or endodontics
• Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist when coordinating patient care and scheduling appointments
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism
