Job Overview
Our office is a small private practice, with a steady flow of long standing patients and new patients. Dr. Sevy has been the owner and only dentist for 7 years after buying from a retiring dentist of 17 years at the practice. We are very team centered and all help on another in this office. We look forward to adding an amazing dental assistant to our team who can help us take great care of our patients.

In this role, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the clinic operates smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
  • Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with precision and care
  • Take dental X-rays using digital imaging technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools while maintaining safety standards for patients and staff
  • Manage patient records accurately within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for confidentiality and data security
  • Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and addressing questions related to dental terminology and treatment plans
  • Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and coordinating with dental reception staff to optimize clinic flow
  • Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by following infection control guidelines and sterilization procedures

Requirements

  • Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental assisting practices and terminology
  • Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic or similar medical documentation platforms is a plus
  • Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, anatomy knowledge, and sterilization procedures
  • Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards
  • Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience assisting in pediatric cases preferred
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and collaborate with the dental team
  • Certification or training in dental assisting, including chairside assisting, medical coding, vital signs measurement, and medical terminology

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
