Dental Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. This position involves assisting the dentist during procedures, managing patient records, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The successful applicant will have a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and be proficient in using Dentrix.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary materials are available.
• Take dental X-rays and perform medical imaging as required, adhering to safety protocols.
• Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
• Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently.
• Uphold infection control standards throughout all procedures.

Experience

• Previous experience in a dental office setting is preferred, with hands-on knowledge of general dentistry practices.
• Proficiency in using dental software such as Dentrix for managing medical records is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and dental terminology is essential for effective communication within the team and with patients.
