Duties

  • Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
  • Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are strictly followed
  • Take and develop dental X-rays and other medical imaging using advanced equipment such as 3D scanners
  • Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft while maintaining HIPAA compliance for confidentiality
  • Provide chairside assistance with medical documentation, vital signs measurement, and medical coding as needed
  • Support front desk operations by acting as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow efficiently
  • Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral health best practices using clear dental terminology and anatomy knowledge

Experience

  • Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred; familiarity with dental assisting duties is essential
  • Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or similar platforms is a plus
  • Knowledge of infection control standards and aseptic techniques within a healthcare environment
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical documentation, and medical coding processes
  • Hands-on experience with X-ray procedures, medical imaging tools, and pediatric dentistry practices
  • Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in general dentistry or specialized fields like prosthodontics or endodontics
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and hygienists

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
