Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies, ensuring a sterile environment following infection control protocols.
- Assist dentists during various procedures such as restorations, extractions, endodontics, and prosthodontics with precision and efficiency.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including 3D scans when applicable, while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
- Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions.
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control standards to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a general dentistry or specialized practice; pediatric dentistry experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with Epic is advantageous.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting confidently across diverse procedures including endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Certification in X-ray techniques and knowledge of infection control practices aligned with OSHA standards.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical records and patient privacy.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and backgrounds.
