Dental Assistant

Job Summary

Duties

  • Assist dentists chairside during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring aseptic technique is maintained throughout all procedures
  • Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging, including 3D scans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
  • Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; document treatment details accurately in medical documentation and records
  • Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort levels before, during, and after treatments to ensure safety and well-being
  • Support administrative tasks such as greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, and managing medical coding for billing purposes
  • Maintain infection control protocols and ensure the clinic adheres to OSHA standards for a safe environment

Experience

  • Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting with familiarity in dental assisting procedures is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology necessary for effective communication and documentation
  • Hands-on experience with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with Epic or similar platforms is a plus
  • Proficiency in taking X-rays, including bitewings and panoramic images; experience with medical imaging techniques is advantageous
  • Understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes in a healthcare environment
  • Experience supporting pediatric dentistry or working with children is desirable but not required
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour
