Job Title: Dental Assistant / Expanded Function Dental Assistant

Location: Charles City, IA & New Hampton, IA

Schedule:

• Monday - Wednesday: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (Charles City or New Hampton)
• Thursday:
• Charles City: 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM
• New Hampton: 7:00 AM - 12:30 PM
• Friday: Off (Optional to work the other half of Thursday)

Compensation: $20 - $30 per hour (based on experience) ** SIGN ON BONUS!

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant or Expanded Function Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team in Charles City and New Hampton, Iowa. Our practice offers a supportive environment where you can grow professionally while delivering exceptional care to our patients.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment
• Take dental radiographs (x-rays)
• Manage infection control – prepare and maintain instruments, equipment, and materials
• Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures
• Teach patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health
• Assist with administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records.
• Perform office management tasks that often require the use of a personal computer
• Communicate with patients and suppliers (e.g., scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, billing, and ordering supplies)
• Support our dentists and hygienists in delivering quality patient care, ensuring a seamless and efficient clinical experience.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is a must
• Certification or degree from an accredited dental assisting program preferred
• Current CPR certification
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a general dentistry setting is highly valued.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and dental clinic procedures is essential.
• Familiarity with dental systems and software is a significant advantage. ( Open Dental and Dexis)
