Job Overview

We are searching for a full-time dental assistant to join us in our Clearfield dental practice. We do a large variety of dental procedures including implants, full mouth rehabilitations, facial esthetics, tmj and sleep apnea, along with all the usual general dentistry

Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, using chairside assisting techniques.
  • Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are strictly followed.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) and operate advanced medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners to support accurate diagnoses.
  • Manage patient records efficiently using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times.
  • Gather vital signs and medical history information from patients to assist in comprehensive treatment planning.
  • Support front desk operations by handling dental receptionist duties, scheduling appointments, and managing patient inquiries with professionalism.
  • Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control standards and safety procedures.
  • Assist with medical documentation, coding procedures accurately for billing purposes, and updating medical records to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy.
  • Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization processes.
  • Knowledge of X-ray procedures, medical imaging techniques including 3D scanners, and vital signs measurement.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while demonstrating excellent communication skills with patients and team members.
  • Certification in dental assisting or relevant training in pediatric dentistry preferred; additional certifications in endodontics or prosthodontics are a plus.
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
