Dental Assistant

Overview
Join our dental team as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional oral healthcare! In this role, you will support dentists in providing comprehensive dental treatments, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and clinical excellence. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills across various specialties including general dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics.

Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments, ensuring smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques.
  • Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and organized according to aseptic technique standards.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including intraoral and extraoral images, utilizing digital imaging systems such as digital X-ray machines and 3D scanners.
  • Manage patient records accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft, while maintaining strict compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
  • Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and managing patient flow efficiently.
  • Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions clearly and compassionately.
  • Maintain infection control protocols by adhering to sterilization procedures and proper handling of dental instruments to ensure a safe clinical environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; experience with medical coding and documentation is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
  • Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during various dental procedures including restorative work, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
  • Competence in taking high-quality X-rays (intraoral)
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information at all times.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members—including dental receptionists—and provide outstanding patient care.
  • Certification in radiography or X-ray technology preferred; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or medical terminology are a plus.

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
