Duties

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and setting up dental materials for various procedures.
• Assist dentists chairside during exams, cleanings, restorations, extractions, and other dental treatments with precision and confidence.
• Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced equipment such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools while adhering to strict safety protocols.
• Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic to ensure accurate medical documentation and coding.
• Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions about dental terminology, and ensuring comfort throughout visits.
• Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization practices in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist, verifying insurance information, and updating medical records.
• Assist with specialized treatments including prosthodontics, endodontics, or pediatric dentistry as needed to enhance patient outcomes.
• Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation when necessary to ensure patient safety during procedures.

Requirements

• Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
• Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and infection control practices.
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation.
• Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
• Ability to perform medical imaging tasks accurately using 3D scanners or other advanced equipment.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Experience supporting pediatric dentistry procedures is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and hygienists.
• Certification in X-ray techniques or radiography is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain necessary licensing if required by state law. Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
