Key Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.

• Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques.

• Take dental radiographs (X-rays) and perform medical imaging as required.

• Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information accurately.

• Manage patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.

• Schedule appointments and manage the front desk duties as needed, including answering phones and coordinating patient flow.

• Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, adhering to infection control standards.

Job Requirements

• Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a dental clinic setting is preferred.

• Proficiency in EMR systems such as Open Dental is highly advantageous.

• Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.

• Ability to perform chairside assisting duties effectively while maintaining patient comfort.

• Strong understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact positively with patients of all ages.

• Certification in CPR or BLS; additional certifications related to dental assisting are a plus.
