Dental Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented EXPERIENCED Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the dental team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, managing patient care, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Proficiency in Eaglesoft software systems, infection control, and a strong understanding of dental terminology are essential to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for growth within general and specialized dentistry settings, including pediatric, prosthodontics, and endodontics.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, extractions, and endodontic treatments with four-handed dentistry techniques
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available
• Take digital dental X-rays while maintaining proper infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
• Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Record vital signs and medical histories; update medical documentation and records accordingly
• Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care procedures
• Operate 3D scanners and other advanced imaging equipment for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
• Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing dental coding, and assisting with front desk duties as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards and OSHA guidelines
• Demonstrate knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and various specialties including pediatrics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry

Experience

• Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred
• Familiarity with dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, X-ray taking, and infection control practices
• Knowledge of dental software systems such as Eaglesoft is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry and general health conditions relevant to patient care
