Dental Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, chairside assisting techniques, and infection control practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments by providing four-handed dentistry support.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following aseptic techniques to maintain a safe environment.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety protocols.
• Manage patient records, including medical documentation and medical coding, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Teamwork.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental clinic to ensure an optimal working environment.

Skills

• Proficiency in EMR systems such as Open Dental is preferred.
• Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is advantageous for working with younger patients.
• Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and general dentistry procedures is essential.
• Experience in chairside assisting will be beneficial.
• Understanding of infection control protocols to maintain a safe clinic environment.
• Ability to utilize 3D scanners for advanced imaging techniques is a plus.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
