We’re seeking a motivated Surgical Dental Assistant to join our growing team and play a vital role in our surgical operations.

Job Describtion:

  • Assist dentists during surgical procedures by providing chairside support and ensuring all necessary instruments are readily available.
  • Prepare and maintain the surgical area, adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
  • Take and record vital signs, ensuring patient safety throughout procedures.
  • Utilize EMR systems such as Open dental for accurate medical documentation and record-keeping.
  • Perform X-ray imaging as needed, following safety protocols for both patients and staff.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care in both general dentistry and specialized fields such as pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics.
  • Assist with medical imaging processes using advanced tools like 3D scanners when applicable.
  • Maintain knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy to effectively communicate with patients and staff.
  • Provide support in managing medical records, including coding and documentation as required by HIPAA regulations.

Skills

  • Proficient in chairside assisting techniques with experience in four-handed dentistry.
  • Knowledgeable in infection control practices and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures.
  • Experience with EMR systems ( open dental ) for effective medical documentation.
  • Ability to perform medical imaging tasks including X-rays and 3D scanning when necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and the dental team.
