We’re seeking a motivated Surgical Dental Assistant to join our growing team and play a vital role in our surgical operations.
Job Describtion:
- Assist dentists during surgical procedures by providing chairside support and ensuring all necessary instruments are readily available.
- Prepare and maintain the surgical area, adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Take and record vital signs, ensuring patient safety throughout procedures.
- Utilize EMR systems such as Open dental for accurate medical documentation and record-keeping.
- Perform X-ray imaging as needed, following safety protocols for both patients and staff.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care in both general dentistry and specialized fields such as pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics.
- Assist with medical imaging processes using advanced tools like 3D scanners when applicable.
- Maintain knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy to effectively communicate with patients and staff.
- Provide support in managing medical records, including coding and documentation as required by HIPAA regulations.
Skills
- Proficient in chairside assisting techniques with experience in four-handed dentistry.
- Knowledgeable in infection control practices and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures.
- Experience with EMR systems ( open dental ) for effective medical documentation.
- Ability to perform medical imaging tasks including X-rays and 3D scanning when necessary.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and the dental team.
