Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterilized according to infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners, maintaining accuracy while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records efficiently within electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant with medical coding standards. Support patient comfort by taking vital signs, explaining procedures clearly using proper dental terminology, and assisting with chairside procedures in a four-handed dentistry setup. Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control practices to uphold the highest standards of safety for patients and staff. Assist with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and coordinating with the dental reception team to ensure seamless patient flow. Ensure all equipment is functioning properly, including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other dental tools, while maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment.

Requirements
Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting with proficiency in dental assisting tasks is essential. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques is required to perform effectively. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix; experience with Epic or other medical documentation platforms is a plus. Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and medical records management is mandatory. Ability to perform X-ray imaging accurately while maintaining safety standards; certification in radiography preferred. Strong communication skills for explaining procedures to pediatric patients and collaborating effectively with team members including dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals.
